Fragments as a Whole
Advised by Rachely Rotem

The New Haven Community Mental Health Centre is conceived as a holistic environment for the treatment of schizophrenia, using transparency and tactility to create an open, supportive setting that encourages connection and reduces stigma. Diffuse communal spaces, landscaped gardens, and meandering outdoor pathways guide visitors through areas for treatment, education, contemplation, and everyday activities, supporting a therapeutic journey toward wellness. Organised as interconnected fragments of a larger whole, the project reimagines the traditional city block as a porous urban condition that strengthens relationships between patients, caregivers and the wider community.
